Yes, i agree. The government is not in a position to make money directly from wine sale. Rather, it's the producer and exporter etc. These select few (probably 99% white) are the real cause of this problem and should be the focus of our discussions and blame. I too feel that the government could be taking better measures, however i government in RSA is far too incompetent and under resourced to handle such matters. We need to inform as many consumers as possible and start the wave of change through education and information. Don't get me wrong, i am thoroughly against mechanical harvesting but i feel that it is unfair to blame the government.
